controversy surrounding a nude Aphrodite on Cyprus passports

The image of a naked Aphrodite, on the new biometric passports raises concerns of Cypriot diplomats fear that it may generate reactions in some Muslim countries.

The newspaper Phileleftheros, diplomats were offended by not having been consulted in advance by the Ministry of Interior on the use of the holographic image of the naked goddess.

Aphrodite, usually appearing quite naked, is considered a symbol of Cyprus, the Mediterranean island where, according to mythology, she was born. The image used in the passports is that of a statue of the goddess in the nude, on display at the Museum of Nicosia.

A Saudi prince offered the luxury hotel Le Crillon 250 million

is one of the most luxurious palaces and the oldest in the world. Le Crillon Hotel in Paris was sold to " a prominent member of the family Saudi royal , said yesterday the current owner, Groupe du Louvre, a subsidiary of U.S. fund Starwood Capital.

Saudi Prince reportedly paid a whopping 250 million euros to acquire the property, and would provide work for hundreds of millions of euros, to allow proper renovation.
